Reasons why to comment on blogs or articles

Over the years, I have learned that commenting on others blogs and articles is a great way to get yourself branded more and people to pay attention to what you have to say.

Personally, I don’t think people comment enough on others blogs and the benefits are so numerous compared to a few minutes of your time.

Here are some of the benefits that I see

The main one is that if you are blogger and are disappointed that you don’t get comments – well the thing to do is start commenting on others – be the first to take action – don’t wait on everyone else – people notice these things.

This is an excellent way to get to know the author and other people that are commenting – if you have a hard time meeting people – what better way than meet the ones that are commenting on the same blog that you just read – you have that bond already.

When you leave a nice comment on someones blog/article don’t you think you stand a better chance of someone clicking on your link and check out what other great info you might have.

Don’t just say great post, nice job, looking forward to your next post – those short comments are not much different than all the spam comments that you can get. What you do is find something in the post that you liked and add to it, find that bond with the author and you.

Pay attention to others comments as this is a great source for a blog posts – you can see what people are commenting on, what they are needing help with.

Show the author respect when commenting as you never know who is reading what you wrote and this could come back and bite you later down the road. Remember the author took their time to write the article and if you are like me and don’t enjoy this part – so comment in the tone that you would want someone to respond to yours.

Don’t be afraid to talk back to your audience – take the time to answer any questions and I personally install a plug-in that send everyone a thank you for commenting.

The biggest benefit is the backlinks that you are creating. This will be my next blog post – so stay tuned.

Spam comments – what to watch for

I don’t know about you but I can’t believe what some will do to get their link noticed. Thank God a friend of mine told me about Akismet and if you don’t have it on your blog – then go to plugins and activate it. This filters the spam comments out – but before you delete all them go thru them as I have seen some comments that are not spam in there.

If you are just starting a blog, this is the best time to add this as I have heard it get tricking adding it after your blog has been going for a while. I remember when I first started and was so excited when I started to getting comments – I was thinking yea someone is reading what I wrote. This is every bloggers dream – to have someone read their blog and comment

But then it didn’t take me long to spot some of the spam comments that you will get and I’m going to use some example from my blog to show you what to watch for.

These are all spam comments – It is pleasant right here. nice research. I\\\’ve been looked the info for a while. thanks and here is the link – now this is what to watch for makeupsuppliers.bravehost.com.

And the list goes on and on – these people are not your friend, not reading your blog post – they are just here to use your blog for backlinks. So don’t be afraid to delete them.

Excuses, Excuses, Excuses ……………..

Well, I think we have heard them all, don’t you – I’m busy, I don’t understand how to do this and that, I’m shy about meeting new people, I don’t know how to talk to others, I can’t get anyone to join my sites, I’ll do it tomorrow, etc. and the list goes on and on. So after hearing a few more today AGAIN – I thought I’d take the time to vent some of my thoughts.

I have some favorite quotes that come to mind when I hear people chatting –

See I’m in quite a few Skype Rooms and even tho I don’t chat alot in
them because I’m working – I do keep up with the conversations that go

on in them and it amazes me all the excuses that people come up with –

like the one that I’m too busy – don’t have time BUT yet was in the room

chatting for 15 minutes vs writing a post for their blog or finding a

way to help someone that needs it – it does not take long to do these

things if you learn to manage your time.

Over the years being on many volunteer projects, I find that the people that are doing the most are the ones that make the time to help with these projects – they don’t use excuses – they just get it done – a doer In today’s life, many of us are busy – but if you are a doer – then you find away to make it happen – you don’t look for an excuse why it can’t be done or why you can’t be done.

Over and over again I come across people with excuses, so I have changed my approach with them now – when they tell me I don’t have time – I say – lets do it together now I have a little time. Since I own traffic exchanges, I have had so many say I can’t do this as I don’t have a banner for my website – so I stop what I’m doing – go to their site and a few minutes give them a banner. Then I have people tell me, I’m not a writer – I can’t do blogs – so then I ask then then – well tell me what you are doing, tell me about your site, etc. whatever they are promoting and you know what I do then – I copy and paste what they are saying in notepad and then when they are done – I ask them now if you had to sum that up into a one-liner what would you say and then after they are done I copy and paste what they just gave me and they just wrote their first blog post – it’s that easy people.

Listen to what others are saying and if you take away their excuses – you and them both will benefit, can’t you see that – that is what we mean by helping others. It’s not easy starting online but with some guidance we all can climb to the top together – that is call teamwork.

Sooooooooo the next time you are going to make an excuse – STOP AND THINK – why am I making that excuse – most of the time in the time that you came up with the excuse – you could almost have had the project done – be a DOER When others are giving you excuses – take them away – by helping them – making them a doer also – once they have experienced it once – they most likely will keep going after that.

How I got into marketing

When I first started on the net, I had and still have an ebay store – while chatting with other ebayers – I kept hearing about other marketing that they were doing to help get others to their store. That is when I heard about blogs, squidoo, traffic exchanges, text ad sites, PTC sites, social sites. etc – just a whole world of tools out there to be used.

I remember back at the time that Yuwie was really the social site to be on as you could set up your profile, tell others about what you do and chat back and forth – so as a suggestion from another ebayer I joined. I met so many wonderful friends there and as we chatted also heard about other resources they were using to get their sites out there. Since then there have been so many more social sites that have come about and now with facebook, myspace, and swom, you can meet so many new people from all over. I love being a social butterfly hehehehehe.

Funny, one of the first traffic exchanges that I joined was Rockinclix – I think back to it now and poor James must have thought where did this dumb hillbilly come from. I didn’t even know what a url was, how to add a banner, and what a text link was – he had such patience with me and guided me thru everything and I got hooked. As I was surfing, I got to see all these other sites out there and I kept joining, joining, joining – till one day I realized wow how in the world can I keep advertising all these sites and why am I putting in all this time promoting for someone else and not building MY list.

By this time, I had learned quite a bit and then started thinking how nice it would be to own my own traffic exchange. I was surfing one day and there it was Hummingbird Hits 4 sale – well this had my name written all over it and I just knew a door of opportunity was opening for me – as if you could see my house – you would see that I am a collector of hummingbirds and with my love for gardening – watching hummingbirds in my gardens is sooooooo thrilling for me. I just felt this was meant to be – so clicked the pay here button and that is how I got my 1st traffic exchange. And so my journey started and I soooo love what I’m doing – I have been blessed and now own/operate 9 traffic exchanges.

Being a traffic exchange owner, it is the owners responsibility to get members into the site to see others’ sites and even tho I have put in alot of hours doing this – I would not have changed a thing. Again, I have been so blessed in the people that I have met and all the friends that have been willing to help me.

In trying to get my traffic exchange in as much advertising as I could, I then found text ad sites, PTC (paid to click) sites and have learned to blog, write lens on Squidoo and have just started writing Ezine Articles – so guess you can say that I am hooked. If you would have told me 3 years ago that I would be doing all this marketing – I would have laughed at you – but I really love what I’m doing and love helping others and try to save them the hours that I spent learning most of what I know the hard way – trial and error.

You are never too old to learn

After being up for 24 hours, I’m on my wind-down and thought I’d put my thoughts down before heading to bed. You have heard the saying that your world can turn on a dime – well mine has.

Most of you that know me that I have been working online for a couple years now trying to learn what I can to make some money.

I was one of the people that worked hard all my life, put away for a rainy day and did things right and SHOCK – in a day the money was gone just like everyone else in the stock market. So instead of being able to retire and start drawing on my IRA at the age 59 – I’m working more hours than I ever did trying to get that secure feeling back in my life again.

Not knowing where to start, I started like most with Ebay and that help me to keep paying the bills also gave me the opportunity to get rid of some of the clutter that had been sitting around the house lol. I won’t bore you with the roller coaster that my life has taken but will tell you that no matter how prepared you think you are things can change quickly.

I have been attending as many webinars, googling everything I can to learn, meeting people from all over and came to the conclusion that I LOVE being on the net. The last two years I feel that I have obtained a lot of the right pieces but just not sure how to put them together to complete the puzzle till this last week.

I have always been a social butterfly so getting on facebook, myspace and on about every social site out there has just been great for me. They say people come into your life for a reason – BELIEVE IT.

Over the last years, I have met people that taught me about traffic exchanges, text ad sites, PTC, solos, html coding, squeeze pages, splash pages, hot links, keywords, bloggin, – all completely unknown to me 3 years ago. And yes, I even learn to play a mean game of pool on Pogo

Anyway, I was heading to Facebook to play Mafia (that’s where I go for my lunch & supper breaks) – Cory IM and asked if I’d like to attend a webinar – and after being in so many I thought great another one – what’s this one going to be selling and pushing down my throat. So that was my question back to him – what you selling and he said nothing – so that got my attention. He said just a group of business and marketing people getting together and brainstorming –   Online Masterminds Group. My first thought was oh no masterminds – way out of my league but I decided to check it out.

Talking about my life turning on a dime again – here was a group of people from all walks of the business chatting about how to help others succeed – they wanted to share their knowledge with others so that they didn’t have to make the same mistakes they had or waste all the time they had. I was in shock to hear this – this just don’t happen – there has to be a catch somewhere or the price for all this was sure going to be way more than I had. Next Shock – they were offering this and not trying to sell me anything. Where was this group 2 years ago??????? I just said God

When I joined the facebook group. and there was over 1100 when I joined – there is over 1900 as I write this – now we are talking days – it hasn’t even been a week yet – this kind of growth in that period of time – that is just amazing.

Then I was introduced in their live Skype Chat Group and what a welcome. All these people were REAL – they were excited about what they had planned, they had a goal, they had a dream – and after awhile in with them I could see the potential – a ground level opportunity to finally get the answers that I had been looking for so that I could put my puzzle together.

If you have struggled like I have, been ripped off like have, been on brain overload like I have – then join me and this wonderful group – you won’t be sorry. I do have to add that things are NOT going to server to you on a silver platter, they are NOT going to do the work for you – YOU will have to want to succeed and if you are not to that point – then you should just keep hopping around trying this and that and when you get tired – look us up – we’ll still be here. BUT IF YOU ARE READY, then you have found what you have been looking for – the tools, the knowledge, the help that you NEED to finally succeed. Don’t be shy.
