You may find that one particular site is best for attracting the target audience that you are seeking.

Monitor the work of your competition. Find them on the social media sites and see what they are up to. You may choose to do some similar things for the same market or you could come up with a strategy that no one else has to reach a new audience.

Use social networks to create polls and find out what your audience is interested in. The people who follow you will have the choice to select things that are relevant to the industry or even add suggestions by their communication in your polls. Take the results of your inquiry to develop great content for weeks to come.

You can actually set up automatic tweets that go out at a specific time you set it to be tweeted. You can also choose a couple of your favorite high-quality blogs to promote on your Twitter. Holding events such as a photo contest that relate to your business is a wonderful way to involve your followers in your social media marketing campaign. Especially if you’re planning on offering a prize, people will really become involved and flock to your site to enter any contest. When your customers upload photos of your products on social media, their friends may see the photos and become interested in your company.

TIP! Don’t forget to include the URL of your website in your description when you upload a video on YouTube, and also add your social media accounts to your profile. If you can convince YouTube viewers to follow you within Facebook or Twitter, the chances of them sharing your videos with others is higher.

Use one of the services available to help you manage your Twitter account. They serve many purposes such as automatically following back new followers and unfollowing people who aren’t following you. Services such as these are invaluable to you for many reasons. From managing lists to following the right people, you’ll be rewarded if you select a good service.

Hold an online contest for a free product or service, and broadcast it through all of your social media channels. Money is tight in today’s economy, so offering some things for free might provide the boost you need to grow your business. You can use a site like Twitter to hold contest drawings. Successful social media marketing require you to respond to comments in a timely and professional manner. The same thing goes for reviews. This could easily end up being the difference between a great social media marketing campaign and a campaign that is a failure. You should especially respond to any negative comment or review. If you ignore these types of postings, it can leave a bad impression on other site visitors. At the same time, a prompt and appropriate response could actually turn the comment into something positive.

You may already know this, but when you start a business on any medium, you have to have a solid business plan if you are to be successful. This is best achieved by making the most of the latest and greatest social networking strategies. It is especially important to adopt these methods early in the game, before they become obsolete.

While you are probably aware of the well-known social network sites, there are many smaller social networks that are targeting specific audiences. Particularly if your target customers are youth oriented, research what networks they are using and why.

You want to be sure that all of your ads are visible and in places that can be seen by anyone. Even if the page where your ad is located gets a lot of visits, you will not benefit from it if your ad is not noticeable. And take the time to fill out your profiles – this is your business card to the world.Social Media

Try playing games on Facebook. Imagine creating a game that features your products. Some of these Facebook games featuring well-known brands have even gone viral. You may consider it money well spent to hire a professional game design company to help you with game development.

Marketing with social media is increasing in popularity, but you should not jump into it until you have yourself a plan. Take a little time to build an outline of the campaign and figure out how marketing methods operate. Also, prepare for a little of the problems SMM faces. By doing the necessary preparations before executing your social media marketing campaign, you will be able to prevail over your competition.

A brand related photo contest can be an effective strategy to increase excitement about your product among your followers. The prize can go to the customer who enters the most creative picture that features your brand. When they share these photos in their networks to other people, it will expose your company to some new markets.

Sign up for an account with Yahoo, so you can start perusing Yahoo Answers. This feature on Yahoo enables users to ask questions, and then receive answers from fellow users. Search the internet for customer questions or issues related to the type of products you sell and try to answer them with links to your own products where allowed. By consistently providing informative answers that help users, you will quickly earn the reputation of an expert.

Make sure your posts aren’t condescending or give the reader the impression you are too cocky. It doesn’t matter how good your reputation is or how many followers you have, being arrogant or boastful can hurt your image. Remember that the customers come first: if you are satisfied with your results, thank your customers for it. Success is determined largely by your clients and they are the foundation that you need to value.

Even though social media marketing might be something new to you that you are toying with, don’t think that the basic fundamentals don’t apply. Do your research, create a campaign and bolster it with press releases and other traditional marketing methods. Combining both new and old techniques is what helps social media marketing to become influential.

Talk to your customers on a regular basis. Find out if they have any blogs or popular threads online and post whenever you can generate appropriate and engaging comments. This does not mean jumping in on a personal exchange, but it should be aimed at issues that are relevant to your product or service.

Follow a successful strategy with well defined step and boundaries when launching your social media marketing operation. It’s not as difficult as you might think to advertise using social media; trust that you can succeed at it.

Good Manners Etiquette Online

Well, I have about stood all that I can without speaking out about some things that have been bothering me and is really annoying and think that many need to learn good manners etiquette online.

Over the years, I really don’t know where people manners have disappeared to and where they learned them as this has just been crazy and some really are just plain rude – so here goes lololol

The BIGGEST one is what don’t you understand about sites being a SOCIAL site.  It’s sad to say but you are just pushing people away from you and if you are trying to earn money online – listen to this – it’s not working.

Over time, I have worked very hard building a list, building a relationship, and yes when I first started I knew everyone on my friends list personally.  Now I will be the first one to admit that as the years have gone and I meet more and more people, it does get hard to chat with everyone as much.

BUT you people have to learn that Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Yuwie, Swom, and the list goes on – are SOCIAL SITES.  They are not advertising sites unless you want to buy some advertising and then put up your site.

The first thing you people have to learn is when you meet someone – it’s Hi, nice to meet you and maybe hope you have a great day, week or weekend.  It’s not Hi, thanks for adding me and here is my miracle product that I want to cram down your throat.  Well I don’t know about you but you know what I do with a HI like that – I remove you, delete you and block you most of the time.  I see this all the time on these social sites.   Naughty, Naughty, Naughty

And for you that are going to tell me I don’t do that I offer the newbie that I meet a free gift like I see in all the auto messages on Twitter – Hi thanks for the add and here is my free gift for you – well it may be free BUT it’s still a freaking link – delete, remove and block

You are never going to build your list or get people to buy anything from you unless you get to know them – SOCIALIZE  with them and talk about them – here is a little tip – the word “I” is the least important word there is when you are first getting to know about someone – when that person is feeling comfortable with you – you know what?????? – they will will ask you well what do you do on here, how long you been online, etc.

ONLY when it gets to that point that you can mention “I” and then don’t go into this long sales pitch right away so that they are sorry they ask you.   A simple I work online helping other to learn about internet marketing and then drop it – take it back to them.  If they ask you how long you been online – then tell them that I have been online for 4, 5, 6 etc. years and love my job and then take it back to them.

You want to know why????? Because people really do like to be heard, they actually do like to share info about themselves if you will only let them – if you show an interest – listen to their fishing story, listen to them talking about their pets, their kids, their grandkids, their hobbies, and most of all what they are having problems with and what type of help that you can give them – THIS IS SOCIALIZING

Now another thing that is very annoying to me and can’t believe that so many grown adults just don’t know what the word “NO” is – when you have someone say NO then respect them and move on don’t keep yapping at them.  You know what that is going to do the next time they see that you are online – they are going to become invisible to avoid you or they just delete you and blocked you.

Speaking of being invisible (as on skype) either means that they are not at their computer, they are working etc. or they don’t want to talk right now.  So just leave them a message and ask them when they have some time could they contact you – you’d like to chat with them.  AND when you see a green light – use some manners and ask the person – do you have a minute? got time for a question?

AND have you forgot what “DO NOT DISTURB” means?????????  Well for all of you that have forgotten and I see this so much on Skype – it means they DO NOT WANT TO BE DISTURBED.  That means – no messages, no chatting and surely no calls – now that is just rude and shame on all of you that don’t respect people enough to give them their privacy when they ask.

Good manners etiquette online is no different than offline – you need to learn to treat people like you would like to be treated – stop and think about what you are doing and what type of example are you setting when you don’t watch your manners.

I got a great blog post – now what?

Interesting how you can get questions from friends and realize that it would make a great post. Many have started writing blogs and have some great info to share with others but then it just sits there and you don’t get any comments or know how to get people to see it. So here are a few of my secrets for getting people to my blog.

First, I send out a ping to all my social sites that I have a new post. If you have no clue what I’m talking about then you missed reading a previous post – check it out here Learn this word and get traffic to your site

Then after I have done that, I go to my facebook account and I post in these groups – these are just a few of my favorites
Bloggers Cafe

Post Anything

Now just don’t go in there and post – you have to also build a relationship with the group – stop and visit some of the blogs and then comment – and when others see you do this, then they will start returning the favor. This does NOT happen overnight and with your first post – this is something that you have to keep doing each time that you write a new post.

Like with all the other things that you do with marketing – you get back what you put in – you don’t leave any comments on others – you not going to get any on yours. The next thing that you notice is that you will start getting new followers – trust me it will happen.

And I’m sure by now you are thinking this woman is nuts – how in the world do you do all this – there is no way. Here is a gold nugget for you – when you get to Bloggers Cafe – you don’t have to comment on all of them like I do as I’m the creator of that group and it’s my job to do that – but what you do is scan the post in there and try and find 2 in each group and post a comment – then move to the next group, find 2 more and keep going. You get the idea – it really don’t take that long folks – it’s worth the effort.

How I use Social Networking to help build my list.

The one question that I get asked more and more is how are you building so many friends on the social sites?  I hear it’s like you are a social magnet.  Well, the secret is very simple.

I don’t pitch anything to any of my friends – I just chat with them and I don’t make the conversations very long as I have so many now.  BUT I do answer all my messages from others – I figure if they took the time to message me then I am going to show them the respect to answer back.

Now it may take me 3 – 4 days to get to all of them but I do – I help others as much as I can and love what I’m doing.  I’m sure you are wondering how in the world can I be friends with so many and keep up with all of them – it’s simple – you don’t have to write a book to someone – you just have to answer them.

There is this social site that I am loving even more than facebook right now and it’s called Swom.  You are probably wondering why as facebook is the #1 social site.  Well, the reason is that most of the people that contact me on facebook is doing online marketing  – so by the time you  get to know someone it seems they are doing the same thing that you are lololol

So for that reason, I am having better luck with Swom as the people are much friendlier I feel and they aren’t there trying to shove things down your throat.  Oh don’t get me wrong, you can let others know what you are doing by adding your stuff to your profile BUT I don’t have everyone pitching me at this site.

Also, you get paid for doing all this – I know crazy huh?  Now there are alot of new sites out there doing this so don’t make the mistake and join more than you can handle as you will fail – you still need to get to know the people and you need to communicate back with them.

People are always adding me and the first thing that I do is look at their page and try to comment back to them about something on their page – why? one you have just caught their attention that you took the time to look at their page.  It can be as simple as I see that you are in the same program that I’m in (program xyz), how is this going for you.

Another approach that I use is if I see something I have in common with them then I like to send them a question about it – they have grandkids – ask how many? – they have pets – what kind – I have a golden lab.  This is how you build relationship and friends.

Now let’s get out there and make some friends, some online relationships – it can be done.  Look me up on Facebook
or Swom

How I got into marketing

When I first started on the net, I had and still have an ebay store – while chatting with other ebayers – I kept hearing about other marketing that they were doing to help get others to their store. That is when I heard about blogs, squidoo, traffic exchanges, text ad sites, PTC sites, social sites. etc – just a whole world of tools out there to be used.

I remember back at the time that Yuwie was really the social site to be on as you could set up your profile, tell others about what you do and chat back and forth – so as a suggestion from another ebayer I joined. I met so many wonderful friends there and as we chatted also heard about other resources they were using to get their sites out there. Since then there have been so many more social sites that have come about and now with facebook, myspace, and swom, you can meet so many new people from all over. I love being a social butterfly hehehehehe.

Funny, one of the first traffic exchanges that I joined was Rockinclix – I think back to it now and poor James must have thought where did this dumb hillbilly come from. I didn’t even know what a url was, how to add a banner, and what a text link was – he had such patience with me and guided me thru everything and I got hooked. As I was surfing, I got to see all these other sites out there and I kept joining, joining, joining – till one day I realized wow how in the world can I keep advertising all these sites and why am I putting in all this time promoting for someone else and not building MY list.

By this time, I had learned quite a bit and then started thinking how nice it would be to own my own traffic exchange. I was surfing one day and there it was Hummingbird Hits 4 sale – well this had my name written all over it and I just knew a door of opportunity was opening for me – as if you could see my house – you would see that I am a collector of hummingbirds and with my love for gardening – watching hummingbirds in my gardens is sooooooo thrilling for me. I just felt this was meant to be – so clicked the pay here button and that is how I got my 1st traffic exchange. And so my journey started and I soooo love what I’m doing – I have been blessed and now own/operate 9 traffic exchanges.

Being a traffic exchange owner, it is the owners responsibility to get members into the site to see others’ sites and even tho I have put in alot of hours doing this – I would not have changed a thing. Again, I have been so blessed in the people that I have met and all the friends that have been willing to help me.

In trying to get my traffic exchange in as much advertising as I could, I then found text ad sites, PTC (paid to click) sites and have learned to blog, write lens on Squidoo and have just started writing Ezine Articles – so guess you can say that I am hooked. If you would have told me 3 years ago that I would be doing all this marketing – I would have laughed at you – but I really love what I’m doing and love helping others and try to save them the hours that I spent learning most of what I know the hard way – trial and error.
