Think BEFORE writing

If you are the author of  your own blog post, article, etc. then you have some control.  What I have been seeing is comments that are left to others – like on facebook and some of the other social sites.  And for heaven’s sake – don’t be putting a picture of you on there that you will regret later down the road.

Unfortunately, I see this with many young and old people even – and I talking to the parents and grandparents that put their nude kids baby pictures on here.  I have one question for you – when that nude baby of yours gets married someday and they have kids of their own – is this something that you are going to want them to see – their mom and dad all over for the whole world to see.

See back in our days, we shared pictures with close friends and then those pictures were  put away and not seen all over the world day after day.  The reason that I bringing this up is that I was chatting with a young gal the other day and it was heart-breaking to hear all the crap she had gone thru because of this – the sad thing is that even tho the family member had taken the pictures down – they had gone viral and were everywhere.

AND while I’m on this got a few more rants here – all you young people that think it’s cool showing how drunk you got at your last party or the other cute things that you are posting for the world to see – it maybe cute now BUT think about it – someday you will be older with kids of your own, and your kids will have kids – is this something you want them seeing?

I know it’s easy to get carried away in the moment as I have seen some pretty bad things also said in comments about others – just keep in mind those comments are there to stay FOREVER.  Forever is a long time – so please think before writing, think before posting, think before commenting, think before adding that picture …………….is what you are putting on here going to hurt someone you love someday??????????  THINK, THINK, THINK

Can Affiliate Marketing Free You From Your Job

This is a question that I run into quite a bit and you know me here is my 2 cents – you may or maynot like what you are going to hear – remember this is only my opinion.  Can affiliate marketing free you from your job – well the answer is yes and no and I’m going to explain what I mean.

With the internet being here to stay and more and more people turning to the net for that magic product or magic button that is going to make them loads of money without working – your answer is NO affiliate marketing will not free you from your job and with that mindset you better keep your job.

On the other hand, if you are willing to work hard, do your research, get your training on your product that you are going to become an affiliate with – then the answer is yes BUT don’t quit your job so fast.  This is where alot of people make their mistake and just jump into this so blindly.

Creating unique content and being the stand out  for your affiliate marketing techniques  should be geared toward long-term traffic through search engine optimization.  That is one of the reasons that learning keyword research is so important.  Don’t flood your site with keywords – keep it simple.

Just because these bots roam around your site, make it easy for them to know what you are talking about, what your site is about, if you make things too confusing for them – they are just going to move on and find something that is not as confusing.  I have been seeing people doing awesome writing and spend hours doing so but not once have they done any keyword research and that is such a waste of their time and effort.

So for all of you out there that are asking can affiliate marketing free you from your job – I have this free report that a friend of mine wrote and would love to share with you – she has done her homework, very well written and worth the time to read – because this will give you your answers NOW – Don’t miss this free offer – click here and download your report NOW – you won’t regret this one.

The Cab Ride

There comes a time when you get an email and you have to pass it along – this is one of them.

I arrived at the address and honked the horn.  After waiting a few minutes
I walked to the door and knocked.. ‘Just a minute’, answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor.

After a long pause, the door opened.  A small woman in her 90’s  stood before me.  She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940’s movie.

By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets.

There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware.

“Would you carry my bag out to the car?’ she said.  I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.
She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb. She kept thanking me for my kindness. ‘It’s nothing’, I told her.. ‘I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother to be treated.’

‘Oh, you’re such a good boy, she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me an address and then asked, ‘Could you drive
through downtown?’   ‘It’s not the shortest way,’ I answered quickly.. ‘Oh, I don’t mind,’ she said. ‘I’m in no hurry. I’m on my way to a hospice.

I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were glistening. ‘I don’t have any family left,’ she continued in a soft voice.. ‘The doctor says I don’t have very long.’   I quietly reached over and shut off the meter.

‘What route would you like me to take?’ I asked. For the next two  hours, we drove through the city.  She showed me
the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator.

We drove through the  neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds   She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl.

Sometimes she’d ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.

As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, ‘I’m tired. Let’s go now’.  We drove in silence to the address she had given me. It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico.

Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were Solicitous and intent, watching her every move. They must have been expecting her.

I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair. “‘How much do I owe you?’  She asked, reaching into her purse. ‘Nothing,’ I said.  ‘You have to make a living,’ she answered.  ‘There are other passengers,’ I responded.

Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held onto me tightly. ‘You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,’ she said.  ‘Thank you.’ I squeezed her hand, and then walked into the dim morning light.. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life..  I didn’t pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly lost in thought. For the rest of that day, I could hardly talk.

What if that woman had gotten an angry driver, or one who was impatient to end his shift? What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away? On a quick review, I don’t think that I have done anything more important in my life.

We’re conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments. But great moments often catch us unaware-beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one. PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID, OR WHAT YOU SAID ~BUT~THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL.

You won’t get any big surprise in 10 days if you pass this to ten people. But, you might help make the world a little kinder
and more compassionate by sending it on and reminding us that often it is the random acts of kindness that most benefit all of us.

Thank you, my friend…

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

Do not regret growing older.  It is a privilege denied to many.  ~Author Unknown

What are Bounced Emails

Well, going to put my other hat on tonight and speak to you as a site owner and explain what are bounced emails.  Bounced emails are sent out and for many reasons are undeliverable and sent back to the sender with a reason why.   As I have spent hours cleaning up some again, I thought I’d take the time and give you my two cent on this.

The first thing is that when I get back bounced emails and I can see it’s just a typing error – that I can understand because we all at one time or the other do that.  But the one that surprises me is all the messages I get back saying that the email does not exist – this is so confusing to me.

Why would a person use an email that is bogus and then not expect to get deleted from the site – what is their reasoning – unless they think that the site owner don’t have anything to do and trying to give us some work hehehehehe   Well, that is not the case and just wanted to make people aware of why this is not a good thing to be doing.

Remember, I told you I was wearing my site owner hat right now – and instead of being able to promote my sites like I should be able to – to make sure that my other members get traffic to their sites – I have to spend these wasted hours going thru bounced emails because someone thought it would be cute to use a bogus email.

Another thing that I don’t understand is why did you join the site to begin with – you want others to see your sites – well wouldn’t you rather I be spending the time to promote the site so that your someone gets to see what you have.  The next time that you want to put in a bogus email – think about it for a minute – by doing this is my site  really going to get the traffic it deserves if the site owner is busy going thru bounced emails.

Now here’s the funny part – most of these bogus emails are on my Text Ad Exchanges.  For all of you that don’t know what they are – Text Ad Exchanges are websites that you can view someone else’s  site in exchange for credits – then you trade those credits to show your sites.  One of the many forms are solo ads and that is where you get to email to the sites members and for them opening your email – you get credits.

Ok now the laugh or should I say the sad part – you sign up with a bogus email which is telling me you don’t want to see others emails BUT yet you want them to see yours – this is the craziest thing I have ever heard and pretty selfish on your part.  Well not on my site – I get a bounced email and you are out – I have no patience with this type of behavior.

My members deserve more respect than that and shame on all of you that are reading this and guilty of joining sites with a bogus email.  Well didn’t realize that this was going to be such a rant when I started but guess I got my dander worked up again thinking about it lolololol

Here’s one more of the messages that I get which I think is so funny as most of you must have left the country when I get this one – as you all know I get a zillion of emails with all the sites I have – but it says this –    The email account that you tried to reach is over quota – another one that will get you deleted – come on people take this serious – this is your business and then you wonder WHY you don’t get leads, referrals, or ever make any money.

If this is the way that you run your business – then you just put yourself in that 97% of the people that don’t make it and you have NO ONE to blame but YOU.  It’s not the product that your are selling, it’s not the site your are advertising on, it’s not the methods that you are using, and you can keep coming with all the excuses in the world but YOU know what the real reason is.

Google Feedburner Headline Animator

You are going to love this little tool and it’s going to save you so much time and is so professional looking and on auto-pilot.  The Google Feedburner Headline Animator has been a God sent for me and I have to thank Greg for getting me there as I had the feedburner set up but didn’t know that all these extras were there to use and all you really had to do was click on activate and add codes – how easy.

Nancy Radlinger

↑ Grab this Headline Animator

Now how cool is that – you know I had been doing the same thing on my sites and didn’t know that there was a banner so nice looking that would put it on auto for me – all the time I spent going to all my sites changing the new blog post title – well no more – woooooooooooohoooooooooo Now I have time finding more things to share with everyone lolololol

Now while I was in here and setting up more in the Google Feedburner and I’m going to highlight them quickly (haha) while I am here.  The other one I wanted to show you which could be used in your email signatures or websites also – talking about leaving just a teaser so that people will want to read the rest of your post – this is a way to do it.

How would you like to send your blog subscribers and email when you make a post – well now you can and all you have to do is go to Google Feedburner and make sure that the Email Subscriptions is active and add the code to your site thru a text widget and you are ready to go.

And if you sometimes forget to ping your blog post – then don’t worry – activate ping shot and Google Feedburner give ’em a push with PingShot as most web-based feed reading services will check for updates on their own time.

Ok one more before we leave the Google Feedburner and that is the Socialize. No more worries about keeping your Twitter friends updated when you do a new post now – yep an on auto – just activate Socialize, add your Twitter and go thru the setting on how you want things to show and activate – don’t like the way it looks in the examples at the bottom, then edit – and save.

Well there you go another time saving tool and keeping your blog out there on auto – this is not hard to do and is worth the time to set all this up – just contact me if you have any questions.

Live Link Cafe

Years ago there was a site called Vinefire and on this site you could post a link and your URL and people clicked on it – the big stink was that you could earn money – which looked good on paper but they never paid you.  Well what I found interesting is that sometimes with some hot comes along that you just go with the flow and use it for your benefit.

That is what I did with Vinefire, and let me tell you I got more traffic to my online Gift Shop and even made sales, I also sold 5 books on there and actually wish I knew today what I did back then – I would have made alot more money lolol.  Well, do those chances come along again – well to my surprise I found a site that so similiar and the Alexia Ranking is 95,000 already – which tells me this site is getting traffic.

Live Link Cafe

Every link that you view at Live Link Cafe will earn a certain number of “view credits” towards “post points” which allows you to add your own link to the system.  Now for all of you that are looking for a fast and effective way to get your stuff out there – this is it.  Now the key here is use a catchy headline and this gives you the experience to test some and find out what works for you.

What I do is make a tracking link and use them with each new headline that I use and this easily can be done by going to your backoffice at NPN (those of you that are there) and set up your trackable links.  If you are not in NPN, there are other sites that allow you to make trackable links  AND if you are not tracking your results, there is no better time to start than NOW.

Now here are a few tips that I learned with these type of sites – you are only allowed to add the same URL only once so what I did with my Gift Shop was that I had a headline for every page of my site and that gave me 10 different URLs for the day – the more you get the things in a person face the better.  This is a perfect way for people to see your website and what you have to offer.

What are some of the other things that I learned is that this needs to be put on your daily to-do list and I made swipe files so that it’s easy to do.  You are given 10 post links at Live Link Cafe when you join – and you earn by clicking on others – – you also earn by bringing in new people – so I would spread the word around about this site.

Tips to Increase Blog Traffic

This is probably one of the most asked questions that I get – how do you get traffic to your blog – most think that they can just put up a blog with the right keywords and you are going to get traffic galore – well I’m here to tell you it’s not that easy.

In this post, I’m going to share a few tips to increase blog traffic that I’m using and is working for me and they really are not that hard to do – you just have to be consistent in doing these things.  Hope some of these tips will help you to get a better routine down with your blogging – especially if you are serious about your blog and know why you are blogging.

After learning how to do keyword research, coming up with ideas started getting easier for me as I just listened to what others were having problems with – made a note of it on my tablet and then at the end of the week – I had a list of content to start my keyword research with.

What I have found very helpful for me as in the beginning I found myself getting long winded and people were not wanting to read a book when they came here – they want to read a post, learn something and then hopefully go apply what they learned.  So how I broke myself of being so long winded was I sat down and made myself write 5 blog post so that I could schedule them to come out every other day – to actually help me with time management also.

I actually think it was the pressure of doing that many at one time keeps you focused – teaches you to stay on target and get to the point so that you can get to the next post.  So that is what I have been doing and then I just schedule them to come out every other day and that frees up time for me during the week to get other things done.  Google loves fresh content and my Alexia ranking has been getting better and better each week.

The other thing I do is to make sure that I ping each post and then I also go thru all the social buttons and make sure that I tweet it, digg it, stumbled it, etc.  Then I go to facebook and I add my link to the blogging groups – now you can’t just go and add yours and not visit others – that will not work.  You have to be willing to comment on others also and to me that is great as that just gives me more backlinks.

Speaking of backlinks – I also use Google Alerts and have alerts set up so that I can comment on others blogs with the same keywords that I’m interested in.  Do others flock to yours right away – no – it takes time to show people that you are serious with your comments and keep that picture out there.

Most of you know from previous post that I enjoy the Ning social sites (click here to see mine) – and I use them as they rank good with Google and it’s an excellent way to let others see your post.  What I like about them is the RSS feed on your profile page – if you click on that and add your blog post – you can have your last 5 titles show or like I do the last 3 post.  The reason that I like doing that is that they get to read the beginning of my last 3 and to finish they have to come to my blog.

The newest place that I have found which I am really enjoying and is strictly for bloggers is  Bloggers.com and what is this – well it’s a site just for bloggers to come and share ideas, tips, their blogs with other bloggers – you can message others and the best part about this is that there is every niche that you can think of being blogged about.  There are even bloggers that just like to blog period and really don’t have a niche – just do it for fun.  BUT the best part about this is what I am learning from people that have been blogging alot longer than me.

These tips to increase your blog traffic will only work if you do them – I know it looks like alot but once you get it down and keep doing it – it really goes quicker than you think.
