Website Ranking

I don’t know about you but I often wonder how my websites are doing, my website ranking, and am I doing what I need to for the bots to find me and how does my site looks to the search engines.  Oh I know some of you are thinking no I really don’t want to know then I would really see how bad my website ranking and some have gone to Alexa and check your ranking there and see that it’s in the millions.

Well I on the other hand want to know – I  want to know what needs to corrected, I want to know if I’m getting noticed – there is lot of hours that are put in and you NEED to know.  You have to remember that the more that you learn about you, your site and how the internet views you – the better.  Wouldn’t it be nice to know how you are doing – like a report card that you get in school – well I have found a tool that does just that.

When I put in my blog, I found out right away that my weakness was not being seen by directories – this is great to know as I have to admit that this is an area that I really never paid attention to.  The other thing I loved about this was that the info was all there – Google page rank, Alexa ranking, your domain age, how much it’s worth, your backlinks, last time a bot was there – pretty cool huh.

Ok you go to Kooiii SEO stat checker and just add your URL and you will get a report just like the one above – now just don’t look at it and go oh no – look at it as a report card and what do you do when you get an average report card – you study hardier, you work hardier to bring your grade up – well this is what you do with this info.

So hope I have helped you with see your website ranking – I call it a report card and now you know where you need to make improvements – I sure have my work cut out for me – don’t forget to bookmark this site so you can watch your grades get better – good luck everyone

Metapad has sure made my life alot easier

Well you know me and I’m always looking for things that will save me time so that I can keep somewhat caught up lololol (if that is possible) .  My friend, Dave, found this for me and thanks Dave – this has been a real jewel.  Metapad has sure made my life alot easier and I’m going to tell you how and why.  Here are some more of my little secrets oh how I keep my websites, squeeze pages, banners etc. out there – try this it works.

For everyone that is using notepad – you are going to love Metapad.  Metapad is a small, fast (and completely free) text editor but here is the best part – when you put in an URL – you will be able to click on it from your document unlike notepad.  Metapad has sure made my life alot easier because I have what I call is my cheat sheets.  They are not as organized as I would like but they work lololol

Most know that I own/operate traffic exchanges, text ads sites and paid to click sites and this is how Metapad has been so great for me.  You know when you belong to many sites and then you want to promote thing and you have to go and hunt for the URLS – well here is my system.  I made up some cheat sheets and what I did is I added all my URLS on them – I have the main URL and then the URL to the ad material that I want to use (banners 468, 125, splash pages etc.)  and I have that one named nancy-links.

Over time that file got so big that I had to make new ones and this is why Metapad is better as any URL that you put in there is automatically clickable – so makes it lot faster for me to get to more sites – copy and paste and I’m gone.  Now what I have been doing it breaking this huge file down into smaller ones.  I have one that is called text links – now this is my cheat sheet where you need just a one-liner and your URL – example Internet Marketing Made Easier For You – Free Report http://onlinecoursesinmarketing.com/.

So with all them in one cheat sheet, I can just copy, paste, copy paste, copy paste and off to another site.  This is great is you are on lot of text ad sites and I also use that for a quick Tweet on Twitter.  The other site that this works well is the LiiveLinkCafe.  A few minutes and I have what I want to promote done – just copy and paste and this is one that I have on my daily schedule and Metapad has sure made my life alot easier to get this one done.

Another cheat sheet that I made it a banner one and this is mainly for my paid to click sites – I have the goto URL (website, splash page, squeeze page, etc.) and then the image URL and it’s just easy then – open up multiple sites (which I also do) and then add them all at one time.  Now don’t forget on this cheat sheet – add both your 468 and 125 banner URLs.

Now the other cheat sheet that is a lifesaver for me is the one that I named codes.   This is the one that I have the full code for promoting with – and this is great on text ad sites and the list building sites, great for when you want to add it to a post or anywhere you need the HTML code for it to be seen.  I use this alot on the Ning social sites that I’m in also.  Now if you are wondering what I mean by codes – it looks like this <a href=”http://earningmoneyonlineforfree.com/go/?bonus-code=170″ target=”_blank”><div style=”text-align: center”><img src=”https://infuser.s3.amazonaws.com/banners/wyop/banner-326×280.gif” border=”0″ alt=”” width=”326″ height=”280″ /></div></a> – now this is what that code will put in my solos that I send out or where ever I use the code

So you can see how time saving this is for me – as I can go to multiple text ad sites as you can post an average of 5 of these a day – so what I do is open up multiple sites that I’m on again, add and save them and then again on my daily schedule – I go and repost them daily.  I also do the same thing with solo emails that I send out on these sites – copy, paste, send and off to the next one.

I hope this has given you some helpful tips on how using Metapad is so wonderful – now if you are interesting in this FREE tool – here is where you go Download Metapad here

Effective Time Management

Well as most of you know that my life had turned upside down on me and without some effective time management skills, I would not have been able to get back caught up as quickly.  Before I got my routine down and also learned to put things into perspective, without that, I would still be overwhelmed right now.  Life does throw you some curves and that is why I can’t stress enough to get a routine down.

Each person will have their own routine depending on what they are doing and the avenues that you are pursuing with your online businesses.  The key is to get that routine figured out so that when one of life’s bumps in the road comes along-  you can quickly pick back up and keep going.  Just think of it as picking up a fumble and run with it till you reach your goal line – that is what you have to do here.

Don’t beat yourself up when you can’t get all done that your were doing but stick with your routine – maybe if you were writing 5 posts at a time – then just write 2 – if you were answering 10 questions on yahoo answers, answer just 3, – you get the idea – stay focused – just cut back till you can build back up to where you were – stay consistent with your routine and in no time you will be back to where you were.

Another effective time management tip that I use is when I have been gone for awhile is that I use the buddy system and that is why it’s very important to build those relationships with people.  There will be time that you will need some favors and this could be one of the times – like you have always been there to lend a hand to others – don’t be afraid to ask a friend when you need some help.

Maybe you know someone that you can swap some things with – I love the barter system – I’ll do this for you and in exchange you do this for me.  I have used this several times when I had been sick and it worked great – I would exchange some free advertising on some of my sites in exchange for something that would help me get back to where I was on my daily routine faster.

And if you have hard task that take long or ones that you dread – depending on what they are – and yes we all have them – I find that breaking them up into smaller projects help – don’t try and do them all at the same time or the same day.   I’ll use writing articles for an example as that is my weakness – so what I try to do is break it up into my keyword research, the another time work on an outline, then another time write the actual article.

Do you plan your tasks daily, weekly and monthly?  Do you know how to say no to non-essential tasks? (like sitting in a chat room all day – ouch that one hurt huh – yea I was guilty of that also)  Do you limit distractions? (another one that I battle with as when that Skype light blinked I had to see what was being said – oops another ouch) Do you take the time to do a quality job vs quantity?  (yea I was guilty of this one also – write as many posts, articles, and even comments on others blogs as I could and focused on how many and not was seeing if I was really writing good info)  Do you get the rest that you need and let your brain refresh?  (Ouch again as most of you know that I am so guilty of not sleeping enough)  Do you take a break when you need it?  (Again, guilty as I know I have been here for days straight and didn’t even leave the house – working.  At the time I didn’t see it but as I look back on things that I thought I was doing so well – there were so many mistakes that were made and had to be corrected.)

Effective Time Management is attainable – you just have to keep working at it – these are a few questions to keep in mind when assessing yourself.  Do you or have you had some of the same issues???????

Choose to Live

I want to tell you about a book that a friend of mine wrote and it’s not the normal book that you would expect to see or read – she wrote this for her son that took his life on January 16, 2007. Daniel wanted everyone to know not to waste your opportunity to live – he want you to choose to live.

When I first saw this video, I have to say that it gave me goose bumps listening to his story and why he wanted this book to be written – and I have to say that when I downloaded I just kept reading and reading. Any of you know me – reading puts me to sleep but not this one.

The lessons in this story are just awesome and I hope that everyone gets a chance to read this book. If you want to learn about the real you – you have to read this book. I love the part when he speaks of taking your mind off what you are lacking and focus on what you have – so many people that I meet in life that is really they all know how to do – whine about what they don’t have instead of looking at what they do.

Another thing that I love was when he said that everyone is on this planet for a reason, find yours. You know that really made me think that it took me 50 some years to find my reason and it’s helping others – I feel so blessed that I have that opportunity, what is your reason? Did you find it yet?

You are also going to learn how to eat an elephant – that was just a great analogy and so true. Are you trying to save the save the world, then you need to read this book. Do you pay attention to how you breathe, then you need to read this book. That chapter was an eye-opener.

Think BEFORE writing

If you are the author of  your own blog post, article, etc. then you have some control.  What I have been seeing is comments that are left to others – like on facebook and some of the other social sites.  And for heaven’s sake – don’t be putting a picture of you on there that you will regret later down the road.

Unfortunately, I see this with many young and old people even – and I talking to the parents and grandparents that put their nude kids baby pictures on here.  I have one question for you – when that nude baby of yours gets married someday and they have kids of their own – is this something that you are going to want them to see – their mom and dad all over for the whole world to see.

See back in our days, we shared pictures with close friends and then those pictures were  put away and not seen all over the world day after day.  The reason that I bringing this up is that I was chatting with a young gal the other day and it was heart-breaking to hear all the crap she had gone thru because of this – the sad thing is that even tho the family member had taken the pictures down – they had gone viral and were everywhere.

AND while I’m on this got a few more rants here – all you young people that think it’s cool showing how drunk you got at your last party or the other cute things that you are posting for the world to see – it maybe cute now BUT think about it – someday you will be older with kids of your own, and your kids will have kids – is this something you want them seeing?

I know it’s easy to get carried away in the moment as I have seen some pretty bad things also said in comments about others – just keep in mind those comments are there to stay FOREVER.  Forever is a long time – so please think before writing, think before posting, think before commenting, think before adding that picture …………….is what you are putting on here going to hurt someone you love someday??????????  THINK, THINK, THINK

The Cab Ride

There comes a time when you get an email and you have to pass it along – this is one of them.

I arrived at the address and honked the horn.  After waiting a few minutes
I walked to the door and knocked.. ‘Just a minute’, answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor.

After a long pause, the door opened.  A small woman in her 90’s  stood before me.  She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940’s movie.

By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets.

There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware.

“Would you carry my bag out to the car?’ she said.  I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.
She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb. She kept thanking me for my kindness. ‘It’s nothing’, I told her.. ‘I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother to be treated.’

‘Oh, you’re such a good boy, she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me an address and then asked, ‘Could you drive
through downtown?’   ‘It’s not the shortest way,’ I answered quickly.. ‘Oh, I don’t mind,’ she said. ‘I’m in no hurry. I’m on my way to a hospice.

I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were glistening. ‘I don’t have any family left,’ she continued in a soft voice.. ‘The doctor says I don’t have very long.’   I quietly reached over and shut off the meter.

‘What route would you like me to take?’ I asked. For the next two  hours, we drove through the city.  She showed me
the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator.

We drove through the  neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds   She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl.

Sometimes she’d ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.

As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, ‘I’m tired. Let’s go now’.  We drove in silence to the address she had given me. It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico.

Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were Solicitous and intent, watching her every move. They must have been expecting her.

I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair. “‘How much do I owe you?’  She asked, reaching into her purse. ‘Nothing,’ I said.  ‘You have to make a living,’ she answered.  ‘There are other passengers,’ I responded.

Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held onto me tightly. ‘You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,’ she said.  ‘Thank you.’ I squeezed her hand, and then walked into the dim morning light.. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life..  I didn’t pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly lost in thought. For the rest of that day, I could hardly talk.

What if that woman had gotten an angry driver, or one who was impatient to end his shift? What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away? On a quick review, I don’t think that I have done anything more important in my life.

We’re conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments. But great moments often catch us unaware-beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one. PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID, OR WHAT YOU SAID ~BUT~THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL.

You won’t get any big surprise in 10 days if you pass this to ten people. But, you might help make the world a little kinder
and more compassionate by sending it on and reminding us that often it is the random acts of kindness that most benefit all of us.

Thank you, my friend…

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

Do not regret growing older.  It is a privilege denied to many.  ~Author Unknown

Your Yearly Dementia Test

It’s that time of year for us to take our annual senior citizen test.
Exercise of the brain is as important as exercise of the muscles. As we grow older, it’s important to keep mentally alert. If you don’t use it, you lose it!

Below is a very private way to gauge how your memory compares to the last test. Some may think it is too easy but the ones with memory problems may have difficulty.  Take this test to determine if you’re losing it or not.
The spaces below are so you don’t see the answers until after you’ve answered them.
OK, relax, clear your mind and begin.

1. What do you put in a toaster?

Answer: ‘bread.’ If you said ‘toast’ give up now and do something else.
Try not to hurt yourself.

If you said, bread, go to Question 2.

2.  Say ‘silk’ five times. Now spell ‘silk.’ What do cows drink?

Answer: Cows drink water. If you said ‘milk’ don’t attempt the next question. Your brain is over-stressed and may even overheat.  Content yourself with reading a more appropriate literature such as Auto World.
However, if you said ‘water’, proceed to question 3.

3. If a red house is made from red bricks and a blue house is made from blue bricks and a pink house is made from pink bricks and a black house is made from black bricks, what is a green house made from?

Answer: Greenhouses are made from glass.  If you said ‘green bricks,’ why are you still reading these???
If you said ‘glass,’ go on to Question 4.

4. Without using a calculator – You are driving a bus from London to
Milford Haven in Wales .  In London , 17 people get on the bus.
In Reading , 6 people get off the bus and 9 people get on.
In Swindon , 2 people get off and 4 get on.

In Cardiff , 11 people get off and 16 people get on.
In Swansea , 3 people get off and 5 people get on.
In Carmathen, 6 people get off and 3 get on.
You then arrive at Milford Haven.

Without scrolling back to review, how old is the bus driver?

Answer: Oh, for crying out loud!
Don’t you remember your own age?
It was YOU driving the bus!!

Well how did you do?????????
