Success In Social Media Marketing For Your Business

At one point in time, many businesses viewed the world of social media as a playing ground for kids. Those days are long gone. In today’s society, social media sites provide a valuable tool for marketing and branding any business. With such a level of importance placed on these sites, it is equally important to make your social media marketing plan an effective one. In this article we will give you a few tips for starting out right.

While marketing through social media is hugely popular, do not jump in without planning first. Learn how these methods work, construct a campaign that targets your niche, and have a plan for dealing with common social media marketing problems. Developing your game plan first will enable you to hit the ground running, with fewer mistakes then your competition who may be running in circles as they learn the ropes.Plan First

Take advantage of social media as a market research tool when seeking feedback on new or existing products. Most of your clientele are likely to relish the chance to give you a piece of their mind, both positive and negative. Most social network users are not shy about detailing their wants and needs, and it won’t cost you anything to listen.

If you use Facebook as a marketing tool for your business, make sure that the things you share are relevant and interesting. Don’t share everything just for the sake of sharing something. You can share content which is hilariously funny or amazing to watch, but it should always be factual and relevant. Make it something that people want to hear about. Don’t post surveys or quizzes that offer your customers nothing.  Don’t just copy and paste cute and awesome quotes – people want to get to know YOU – talk about you more – your experiences.

Put social media links on printed advertising. Advertise the link of your social network profile on any print materials that you distribute. Create a campaign online, or make a photo contest that is related to any posters you have so that you can generate interest towards you from customers.

Social Media MarketingWhile using social media sites like Facebook when advertising your business, keep your posting to a maximum of three per week. It has been proven that potential customers are annoyed and overwhelmed when they get too many company updates at any day of the week. Limit your posts to three or fewer a week.  You have to remember that people are busy and if you really want them to pay attention – give them good content and make it worth their while to read your post.

Try giving away some samples through social media. The appeal of a free gift is universal; offering them is a great way to build your audience on social networking sites. Choose a product or service you want to highlight, then post your free offering to the most popular freebie pages and forums.  Try and get them involved in doing something when they come to your site – either commenting, guide them thru your funnel – people do like to be guided – don’t keep them guess what you want them to do.

Put a “Like” button for Facebook on your blog, so people don’t have to exit your site to use this. By including a “like” button on your blog, your readers will be able to easily promote your business to their friends and family. People like for you to keep things simple, and by doing this you increase the chances that they will return to your site and read your content.  The easier that you make it for them – the more likely they are going to spread the word.  Don’t forget to add you Pinterest Button as this site is really getting the traffic right now.

Social media is a modern way to market your business, and it is important that you give it a try. You can use this to market your product and find many new customers. This article showed you basic tips for creating a quality campaign using social media marketing.

  2. So true, Nancy.

I have one business person on twitter who only ever posts quotes – at least 4 times a day – and it drives me insane. I appreciate a god quote but I have no clue who this person is or how she can help me in my business.

Building a profile is one thing – building an effective one is another. Thanks for the read.

    • Thanks Mel and I totally agree – but you know I hid like that when I first started and am hoping that newbies will read this and learn they have to break out of their shell – no matter the reason.
