Tips And Tricks Towards Successful Blogging

Many folks today want to create an online presence with a large following. Building a large audience for your content will help to promote your message, whether it is personal or professional. A good way to establish a voice and an audience is through blogging. If you want to find out how blogging can help you, then read through this article.

Post your blog content all around the internet.

The more places that people can find your content, the higher your reader numbers will be. It is not wise to limit the outlets you have for a successful blog. It’s up to you to ensure that many people have access to your work. Use every outlet available to garner attention.

Windows Live Writer can be a great asset. This is the most effective blogging client program that exists. This product only works with Windows, but is much better than Mac blogging clients. As an added bonus, the software is free for anyone to use.

Try implementing tabbed zones when you recommend articles to your readers. You can also highlight your key articles above your sidebars. You can customize a tabbed zone so that it contains the articles that you view to be most important, neatly organized into categories. Using these tabs allows readers to easily see what articles you have available. You’ll get more traffic on these articles if you use tabbed zones.

Holding contests and giveaways can be a great draw to pull in readers for your site. Nobody will pass up the opportunity to get something for free, even if the free item is small. The more contests and freebies you have, the bigger the payoff for you, in terms of readers and followers. Readers will check your pages more often, if they think you might be giving away freebies.  Does this really work – well let’s try it – anyone that leaves me a comment on this post – I will give you a FREE rotating banner on Hummingbird Hits (one of my TE’s) with 1000 views to my members.

Properly placed back links improve your search engine rankings and by extension attract more targeted traffic to all areas of your site. If the search engines consider your site to be an authority site, you will rank more highly in their search results pages. If you’re getting linked to from other sites, you’ll seem more credible. This is generally referred to as “back linking” in the SEO world. Make sure that you have a wide variety of excellent backlinks instead of having a lot from only one website.

Ensure that your blog has a contact page.

Make it clear how people can contact you by setting up a separate “contact me” page. You don’t know who might read your blog – celebrities you admire and well-respected people in your field might stop by. Allowing readers to contact you puts you in touch with people who can help you improve your blog or even help your career.

Much information has been presented in this article; hopefully, it has helped you to better understand the art of blogging, and the many ways in which you might benefit from creating your own blog. Be sure to take this material to heart, remain patient, and put your know-how to work in order to attract a substantial blog readership.

  1. Good tips Nancy, never thought of holding a contest. I will give this some thought. I have not used blogging clients. Either i write directly into the blog or I write it in a document though often it gets rewritten when i put it in my blog LOL
Would like to read from you about the benefits of using a client to using a document or writing directly.

    • Thanks Xarah and I have not held many contest but I do throw in some free things once in awhile. Thanks for the suggestion for another post – I remember when I first started and it was so hard to come up with things to blog about and NOW – I find it hard to find the time to blog about everything I want to lol

  2. Nancy,
You make some pretty cool observations, the contest suggestion is a great one. That’s something that I’ll be doing when I have a good idea for one and I’ve revamped my blog. Also like your suggestion about having a contact me page setup, you just never know who will look you up. Never thought about it that way. Good stuff.

    Thanks for sharing,
