Are You Ready To Market Your Business? Try The Social Media Sites

Marketing your company online is an exercise in continual alertness and responsiveness.

New techniques, new processes, new strategies, and so on make it a challenge to keep up, but very rewarding, as well. For example, you need to learn effective ways to use social media sites, sites that everyone uses and which may require you to learn new skills to harness appropriately. This article provides several useful tips for running an effective social media marketing campaign. Use them, and make certain that you are informed.

Try hosting question/answer sessions online to boost interest about your services and products via social media. This is an effective way to get potential customers to learn more about your offerings, and also your business as a whole. Customers will also learn about you through the interaction, giving your business a more personal feel.

Creating a Youtube video that contains keywords that relate to your site can increase the likelihood that people will stumble on your site when they perform searches. Sometimes a major search engine will list a video near the top of searches. This means that even if your website isn’t found when someone searches for a keyword, they may still find your video. Be sure that you link to your site within the description of the videos you make.

Connect your Twitter account to your LinkedIn account.

You will increase the number of professional contacts that you can follow and allow them to follow back easily. You can speed up the rate at which you make professional contacts, and make your tweets appear more professional. Use a program called LinkedIn Tweets to help your LinkedIn contacts follow you on your Twitter account.

Try to find something other than inspirational quotes to use as tweets, because you want your followers to think you have original things to say. This is filler content and will annoy some of your followers. You can, by all means, use an original thoughtful saying of your own.

Use a social network to promote discounts and special offers. Something like a buy-one-get-one offer, a 50% discount, or even a prize drawing can bring people to your site in droves. Use social networking to learn more about your target market, including their wants, needs and perceptions of your brand.

Marketing with social media is increasing in popularity, but you should not jump into it until you have yourself a plan. It takes time to understand exactly how social marketing works, plan a marketing campaign and educate yourself so that you can avoid the common pitfalls in the field. By doing the necessary preparations before executing your social media marketing campaign, you will be able to prevail over your competition.

You can not only effectively market your business using social media, but can also have fun doing it.

You should try different approaches to see which way suits your needs the best. The Internet offers a great way to reach out and find new customers, employing new methods first is critical. Succeeding in social media can really increase your business profits!

  1. Great info as always Nancy! Really great advice to use keywords in your YouTube Videos and to link back to your website in the video description. We also like that you said you should not only post quotes, but have something original to say along with product discounts. Everyone loves a good deal. Important stuff for sure. Thanks again for this very useful info!

    • Thanks guys – yea I see so many on FB and Twitter and all they ever post is quotes – well that is great as a filler but that is NOT letting people know about you – the only thing I learn from that is that they enjoy quotes.

    • Thanks Jon and yw on the tip – I really like using Linkedin and it’s nice to be able to link all your social sites.

  2. WOW! another informative post Nancy. As you’ve said it best “Creating a You-tube video that contains keywords that relate to your site can increase the likelihood that people will stumble on your site when they perform searches”. Many steer clear from doing videos but I’ll sure implement this tactic. Thanks again for sharing.
    Sincerely,

  4. Good advice as always Nancy, I do want to caution everyone to be careful about Cross-linking the various Social Site…
It is NOT cool to have same information posted to Twitter or Facebook from other sites several time.
In fact I have found it takes little time to manually post What I want, When I want.
Of course the daily schedule has allotted that procedure.
Thanks again for the great sharing

    • WOW nice to see you Chuck – been long time – and thanks for the comment and I agree – there are times that when you hit all the social buttons to share and then ping it – you get it plastered all over your walls – so good point – thanks
