Me, Myself and I

Strange title for me but I have started to see some things and so thought that I would write a post about it.  Over the years and meeting a variety of people online, I have noticed that many will tell you almost anything to get you to sign up for what they have going on at the time and it’s a shame things are like that BUT this is just a part of life.

The key here is at the end of the day the ONLY people that you have to answer to is me, myself and I – no matter what you did today online, no matter what program you joined or no matter what you did or didn’t accomplish today – it’s just YOU.  Now I’m not saying that there are not online friends that are willing to help you, teach you and guide you BUT the bottom line still boils down to me, myself and I.

When you get hit up about trying a new program, research that program – go to google and then it can be YOU that makes the decision in your journey path.  You can’t go thru life listening to this one and that one and then blame them when things didn’t turn out – because sweetie it was me, myself and I that made the choice to sign up – no one is forcing you to join – there is a little word that so many of us forget (and I’m not one to preach on this one) but,  it’s “NO”.

When people ask or suggest things to you, research it and YOU make the decision that is best for you.  All you have to do is tell that person that you will check out their program and get back to them – DO NOT feel that you have to sign up with them just because you are friends online or have been chatting online.

While I’m on a roll here – working online is NOT a competition either – it’s doing YOUR best – you are not here to impress others because at the end of the day it’s me, myself and I that are there.  It’s YOU that knows that you tried your best and it’s you that knows that you are making decisions based on YOU – not someone else.

Also, when you are trying your best and doing your best – that my dear is all that is asked of a person.  There is no race here to see who is going to get to the end of the rainbow first.  So I’m asking everyone the next time that you get discouraged, feel frustrated, or even ready to give up – ask did I do my best – and is the answer is yes – then so be it – keep going – remember it’s me, myself and I that you have to answer to – no one else.

I do have one tip for everyone – when things start to overwhelm you – stop what you are working on at the time and break it down into smaller steps and I will give you an example.  And yes, even I get to feel that way at times – but here is what I do.  When I get up in the morning and look at my list of things that I want to get done or that needs to get done – I take the first thing on my list and tackle it – don’t sort thru your list – just start it and don’t feel bad if you didn’t get it done.

This happens to me daily, I have a project that I’m working on and life happens and I don’t get it done and the example that I will use is the report that I’m working on.  Well instead of letting this get to me, letting it frustrate me, or me even giving up because someone else may have theirs done already – I just take ONE chapter and get it done – and believe me I have days that I only get one page done, one paragraph done – but you know what I know at the end of the day that I did my best for that day.

If you keep doing that, the next thing you know that report is done – I even have the same issues with blog post sometimes – there have been times that I start a blog post and get one paragraph and life happens – I save it as a draft and deal with life and the issues of the day.  You know why this works for me – it’s because at the end of the day it’s me, myself and I ONLY that I have to please and make happy.  Once you have done that, trust me the next day will be so much easier and the next day and then at the end of the week – you will be surprised at what you have done.

See as life does happen and it does – the day goes and you had so much you wanted to get done – stop beating yourself up – we are human – we are not superman or superwoman – we are regular individuals trying our best and that is ALL that a person can do in life.

Everyone who got where he is, had to begin from where he was.

  1. Nancy, once again you have done an excellent job. You are absolutely right about beating ourselves up for not doing as much as we think we should have done. I agree that if we do as much as we possibly can by the end of each day we should pat ourselves and the back and say “well done”. Thank you so much for sharing this as I have really been beating myself up lately. It is nice to know that I am not the only one who does not get her to-do list done at the end of every day.

  2. Hi Nancy,

You told this so well, I have been exactly where you are and bombarded by try my ____ program, it is super fantastic. I finally had to say enough is enough and stepped back and thought about my direction and that is about when I was introduced to you and Craig. That has been the single greatest thing that has happened to me online. I thank my lucky stars that Susie Moore showed me the way and now things are going great for me.

  3. Hi there Nancy,
Once again another great post as is your normal. We are as we are. We do as we do.
And I agree all we can do with anything we try is our best.
So if we always try to do our best. No one can or should ask for more.
As for all the programmes that are out there I would not like to count them.
My focus at this time is just on the main two. Familynetworker and Global NPN.

Of course I know there is many more out there and over time I am sure I will be in more of them.
But for this time I am trying to do my best in just these two. Plus of course have loads to learn and O hope help others with.

    • Well you know me I can only keep my mouth closed for so long and then have say my 2 cents lololol – you remember that from classes 🙂

    • Yes I agree Beth and it’s hard to learn the word “NO” but what is worse yet is when people just don’t stop when they hear that word – that is so sad

  5. oh Nancy I so relate to this, everyday I m hitted up with people to join this and joined that, I guess it stems from trying to please everyone, that i have a tendency to be nice and do so and here I overrun and overwhelm with everything under the sun. I guess i need that will power to say i check it out and not feel obligated to join .

    Thanks for a great post.
